Our reason to exist
For Many years now genre-specific writing has become inherently self-consuming, self-serving and mostly clones geared toward the specific purpose of creating income for the big publishing houses around the world. Unfortunately the world has become too small and these publishing houses have become even bigger.
As with the tide of any society of thinking individuals, a tide of unrest, misbehavior and the eventual ‘fuck-you’ attitude, the ‘indie’ movement has spawned. This is the independent publisher that can be seen as either one person struggling against unbelievable odds to go-it-alone and find his or her feet at the same time as connecting with an audience, or it is a bunch of individuals who have come together in the spirit of the ‘indie’ in forging a market – a new market where there is no genre-specific targeting.
This new market, of which is the natural market, whereby the individual flourishes and the small publishing house doesn't need to needlessly label or box a writer, is a market wherein stories are told for what they are, written for whomever finds them palatable and only marketed so as people know they are there.
We are just one of those indie’s making its way in the world today where we feel that the convoluted old ways of control-over-destiny, manipulation and misrepresentation are not wanted by the general population of readers, and that the population is hungry, famished even and all WE want to contribute to is helping to get a story from our imagination, into words and out to YOU, the reader.
I hope you will enjoy the stories we tell and that reading is treasured and passed on to every generation to come as something that is necessary, no! Vital - as vital as mathematics and as important as science or engineering; imagination is the link, the conjoining part between those two-cultures that C.P snow discussed in his essay of the deviation of human beings via two apparently dissenting subject areas – that of the humanities and the fields of mathematics and sciences, as if a human being could only be one or the other.
This is not true of course and the gap is herein filled with the imagination, the artistry and brilliance of the writer, because our world, our future world depends on just that – creativity, construction, relevance, different points of view and the meshing of all these ideas.
